Week 7- Leaders

Next is a series if haikus I wrote about world leaders whom we should recognize in our own community.

We know world leaders,
But there are leaders in us,
They are our true selves.

We talk about trends,
But we never make our own.
Why don’t we try it?

Why can’t we have peace?
Someday I hope we will stop
All the pain we made.

Sometimes I wish when
I’m in my times of darkness,
Someone will show love.

No one is perfect,
For without our own mistakes,
We would be too proud.

Catalina Island trip part 1

I have two favorite moments I experienced on my field trip to Ctalina, but I’ll write one now. I was at Catalina Island Wendesday-Friday, and saw some wonderful things. One of my favorite moments was kayaking- but it was scary. We kayaked all the way to the neighboring cove! Me and my kayaking partner Gavin found four kelps with air bladders the size of a grapefruit! We also found another one with an air bladder the size of a crab apple. We even named them! Bob was the first, he was the third biggest. Then we found Jeremy, his… “Brother,” who was the second biggest. We then found the smallest, which we named Amelia, which was Bob and Jeremy’s little cousin. Then we found Bob’s wife, Rebecca, the second smallest, and then we found Suzy, the grandmother, who was the biggest. We did find an even bigger one! believe it or not who was the grandpa named Matthew, but we had to toss him overboard because he weighed us down to much. Also, my classmates came face to face with a sea lion who was fighting with a pelican over a fish! Overall, it was a fun experience.

Week 5: Childhood memories

I have a somewhat hard time choosing my favorite childhood Emory, but I’ll try my best. My favorite childhood memory is swimming with my favorite cousin Colleen at my dad’s friend’ spool. We were playing something that had to do with altlantis, and the pool had tile in the side that was white and blue, and my dad’s friend’s dog came up to us and tried to lick out faces, so we ducked under the water to dodge him. He was a small Shitzu with curly white fur.

My thoughts on a video we watched for school

I thought that the video about fair use was confusing. I had no idea what they were saying. It wasn’t edited well.

Week 4: A Picture is Worth

Copyright
Computers can be used for almost anything. When you draw stuff on paper there is one copy unless you use a copy machine. But on the computer many copies can be made. In fact, on the computer, more copies can be made than with a copy machine. If you don’t want that, you can place a copyright, so that they cannot use it without your permission. Copyright has to do with the law. With a copyright, people cannot share it and copy it without your consent. Depending on where you live, there are exceptions. The law automatically places a copyright on whatever you create. Copyrights are placed on photos, movies, videos, drawings, stories, recipes, etc. If you are okay with people sharing it, as long as they give credit, you can place a Creative Commons license. A content license basically tells people the rules of sharing your work. They are designed to work internationally. There are six different Creative Commons licenses, so you can customize the rules to your liking. All licenses require you to give credit to the source, or attribution. One license makes it so that people cannot sell your creation for money unless they contact you and you agree. Another tells people that they can make something new out of your creation. And another lets people build on our work if it has the same terms. It insures that your work is used with the terms you want for it.
